The past few weeks...

I can't believe its been 3 weeks (tomorrow) that Della entered our lives! Its crazy to think that in such a short amount of time, she's hasn't always been with us. We've had alot going on in the last couple weeks that I need to update on.
Rusten was able to take about a week of vacation time to spend with us after the baby. His help was very much appreciated. While I only took care of the baby, he took care of the boys and everything else. He enjoyed his time off and hated to go back to work. But thank goodness he has 3 day weekends, because he jumps right back into that role...still helping me. Which if you know Rusten that is a total shocker! They say that little girls change their dads...but I didn't realize he'd change over night. But I love his help, thanks honey!!

Tanner loves having a sister! The night we had her, he asked my mom " Is it true Nana, I actually have a sister, and I'm not dreaming?" He is also the little helper...he enjoys throwing diapers away and getting this or that for me and helping Porter get whatever he needs. He got sick all last week, so I had to keep him away from her. He did good about staying away, but he couldn't stand the thought of not seeing/holding/kissing her. He is also getting really good at rhyming words, its amazing to me how fast his little mind works. He's also wanting to learn to read...but I can't stand the thought of him growing up so fast.
Porter is the protector! As soon as he hears her cry and runs to me and says "check, check?" Then he'll run into her room, stand on the side of the crib and watch her. He loves to hold and kiss her and is actually really soft with her. I thought for sure he'd have problems adjusting to her getting all the attention, but he either waits, just does it for himself or has Tanner help him. He's also talking more but is still having problems pronouncing words, so in Feb. (when he turns 3) we'll be able to go get him tested at the school and hopefully get him into their preschool program.
Della is the center of our world! She hardly cries only to be feed and/or to change her diaper. She doesn't get bothered by her brothers holding her or with having Porter inches away from her face saying baby over and over again. She loves tummy time and swinging, which helps me when I can't hold her.
As for me...I'm doing great. Adjusting well to being a mother of 3 (actually sounds more dreadful than it is)! The realization of 3 kids hit me 2 weeks ago when I was taking Tanner to school. I had to call Rusten and tell him how weird it felt having a car load of kids (all mine) in the car. But I do love having a little doll to dress up everyday with all the different dresses and hair pretties. I can't wait for her blessing to happen in a couple weeks. This is the first blessing for Rusten to do. I love watching his role of being a father and having the priesthood. How much it has greatly blessed and enriched our lives.
