Whewww.....about time I updated!!

I can't believe it's been 5 months since I've last posted so much has happened in the last couple of months! So I will begin individually!! But first I should mention that we've moved to Nebraska a couple weeks ago and are still trying to get settled in...

Tanner- started half day kindergarten back in Aug. at a charter school that was about 30 mins away. So my morning consisted of driving back and forth to get him, by the time I spent driving/waiting it would be about 3 hours. Once he got out for Christmas break, I decided not to put him back into school since we were planning on moving sometime in January. Since I wasn't stuck to a schedule of driving or going to school for about a month...we spent a lot of time over at papa's and nana's house. In that time Tanner really blossomed in his love of horses. Not only did he learn to trot by himself but also to rope. Brandon and Marcy got the boy's a rope, gloves and spurs for Christmas. So that got him really wanting to rope and ride. He has now started school here in Nebraska and loves it! He goes all day and I was worried that he would get tired of all day school since he wasn't use to it. But he has done such a good job and is only a little timid when I drop him off at the corner and he has to walk by himself to the auditorium to line up with his class. He's having fun and isn't getting to overwhelmed or cold since they keep the kids inside when it’s too cold to play outside.

Porter- was in preschool but also got taken out of school at Christmas break. I haven't found him another preschool up here and don't really plan to either but maybe next year we will. He, like Tanner also loves to ride horses. I actually think he loved the time spend with papa more than the horses. Porter tries so hard to be like papa, that he wears his boots and wranglers everywhere. Anytime that we couldn't find Porter, I just had to look for papa and Porter would be right there beside him. Now that Tanner is gone all day, he has realized just how much he loves his brother. But it has given him the opportunity to spend time with Della and teach her things like a big brother. As much as he gets annoyed with her...he loves her even more when she does something that he has taught her. Since moving up here we've gotten a lot of snow, and Porter loves to dig (he even has pretend workers that moved with him to help get his mining operation up). We told him that he couldn't dig in the yard, only in the sand box. But with all this snow, he asked for the shovel the other day so he could dig in the snow. He loves the snow and the cold weather.

Della- has us wrapped around her little finger!! She has a serious issue with shoes...this girl loves to accessorize! You will never catch her bare foot unless she's changing shoes. And when she's not worried about her shoes then you will catch her twirling her hair with her fingers. She also loves to get any phone and say hello and then start a little conversation with it with all her jibberish. She's saying a couple words like hello, bye, dog dog, uh-oh followed with some jibberish after it. She also will yell at the boys and tries to call them by their names. Overall she's a goof ball and you never know what she's going to do next...she surprises us all the time with silly stuff.

Rusten and I have been busy with the move. He came up to Omaha a few days after Christmas, to get everything settled for us to move up. While the kids and I stayed back to get everything ready for us to leave. He got everything ready for us a lot sooner than we had expected so I got into super mode with the help of my sister’s and mom to get everything packed up and ready. He came home in the middle of the week, we got everything loaded in the u-haul and left a couple days later. The kids stayed back with my parents and sister’s, while we drove the 23 hour drive from Phoenix to Omaha. We thought it would be easier for us to come up before the kids to get unloaded and somewhat unpacked before they came up a week later on the airplane with Alena and Kensey. Which is a big THANK YOU to my parents and the girls for watching them, I know it couldn’t have been easy!! Rusten is enjoying his new job a lot and I’m still trying to get everything unpacked and settled in for us. Alena is also staying with us until April for an internship she found up here…so that helps me a lot!!
Other than our move and the kids getting older (which breaks my heart), not really too much more is going on in our lives right now! Here's some pictures!!
